FROM THE BLOG:
1st Quarter 21st Century, Usak
This modern heirloom oushak carpet is made using a time honored traditional weaving method, pattern and color scheme that is historically unique to this particular village and its people.
This Oushak carpet immediately captivated us when we saw it in Central Anatolia while it was still a work in progress. The quality craftsmanship, which makes this rug unique, was evident even in its unfinished state. The artisans who created this carpet used rich natural dyes, an extremely fine grade of wool along with a historical Oushak pattern that dates back to the mid 19th century. The luxurious handle and rich colors are the result of the extra care and effort put into the making of this rug. The result is a gorgeous new Oushak that rivals its antique ancestors.
